Is Clay Day free?

Yes! We provide all of the materials necessary to complete our ceramic projects as well as the artists who teach those lessons! Clay Day LBC is a project of Fulcrum Arts’ Emerge Program and is supported by grants and individual donations. Donations to Fulcrum Arts, a 501(c)(3), in support of Clay Day LBC, are tax deductible to the fullest extent of the law under Federal ID 95-2540759.

What is the age range for Clay Day projects?

Clay Day has projects specially developed for children in Transitional Kindergarten through 8th grade.

Where and when do lessons take place?

Clay Day brings ceramics to your sites during your regularly scheduled educational programming hours. This includes the weekend pending availability.

Does Clay Day have virtual options available?

Does Clay Day operate during the summer months?

Yes!

How many children can participate in a Clay Day project?

Scheduled projects must have a minimum of 20 students and a maximum of 35.

What does my site need to provide for a Clay Day project?

  • A room with cleared tables as well as chairs for all children participating in the project

  • A teacher, leader, or staff member to be a present and engage participant in the workshop

  • A water source—sink or hose

Who can request a clay day with Clay Day?

Clay Day works in partnership with educational children’s programs in Long Beach. 

This includes:

  • Schools—public, private, charter, virtual

  • Pre K through 8th grade classrooms—this might include art, science, ELA, social science/history classrooms etc.

  • After-school programs

  • Community centers

  • Summer camps

  • Social service agencies

  • Child-centered non-profits

Does Clay Day do private parties for children?

Clay Day’s sole focus is fostering partnerships with community education organizations.

How do I schedule a Clay Day project?

Fill out one of our inquiry forms and tell us a little about your organization and what kind of project you’d like to do with Clay Kids.

I’m an artist and I’d love to make ceramics with kids, can I volunteer?
