Coil and Pebble Bowls

Grade Level: TK-8th grade

Length: 

Day 1--45 minutes to make the bowl

Day 2 [OPTIONAL]--60 minutes to bowl

Goals: Students will explore the coil building method of creating functional pottery

Students can make and decorate bowls that

• celebrate cultural holidays

• celebrate the individual identities of students

• are gifts for loved ones

• explore color, shape, and / or texture

• parallel, enhance, and diversify teachers' curriculum in the subjects of social science, history, art, literature
