Trinket Dishes made by 1st grade students

Grade Level: Kinder-8th grade

Length: 

Day 1--45 minutes to make dish

Day 2--60 minutes to glaze dish

Goals: Students will learn basic techniques for hand building and glazing a functional piece of pottery.

Students can glaze and decorate dishes 
  • as gifts and in celebration of cultural holidays
  • as explorations in color, form, and shape
  • to parallel, enhance, and diversify teachers' curriculum
